San Francisco: Meta will introduce an 'Account Verification' subscription service in the near future. After Twitter, Facebook and Instagram launched a new paid subscription service called Meta. Apart from providing users with a verification badge, this will also provide adequate protection for their profiles.
Users can take up subscription manually. Subscription is only available to those over 18 years of age. Meta sources suggest that the new change is aimed at content creators. There are also reports that this decision is based on the request of many people.
The new paid service will first be tested on chumps across Australia and New Zealand. Last Sunday, Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta, announced that subscriptions are starting on Facebook and Instagram.
The new paid subscription also includes a facility to directly interact with the customer service team if users are facing any issues with their profile. The subscription service will roll out to Australia and New Zealand later this week. Later, it is reported that these will be extended to countries including the United States. Subscription rates range from $11.99 (Rs 991) to $14.99 (Rs 1239) per month.
