"The case will be re-examined" New evidence and information in the deaths of two children, including child of Indian origin ;

London: A new investigation will be conducted into the death of two children after a vehicle ran over them during a tea party held at the school last July. Indian-origin Nuria Sajjad and Selena Law died in the accident. Both were eight years old.

Claire Freemandil, 47, who was driving the Land Rover Defender that caused the crash, claimed she suffered a seizure at the time of the crash. In the first investigation, no action was taken against the driver.

Major flaws in the initial investigation included the diagnosis of epilepsy, which was difficult to detect without a brain scan, and the failure to cross-examine key witnesses. But after new evidence and information came to light, it was decided to re-examine the case.

"We deserve answers"

"No parent should have to go through the pain we went through in the last 15 months. Many questions were left unanswered in the first investigation. We hope the new investigation will help us" – said Saj Butt, father of Nuria, one of the children who died in this incident.

"What we wanted was a thorough investigation for Selena, Nuria and other families," said Jessie Deng, mother of Selena Lo, who died in the accident. The police have requested those who were injured in this incident and the witnesses who saw the tragedy to share information.
