BJP MP Claims Injury in Dispute with Rahul Gandhi Amid Parliament Protest

During an opposition protest in Parliament, BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi claimed he was injured after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi allegedly pushed a fellow parliamentarian. Sarangi, who was reportedly being assisted in a wheelchair and had a handkerchief on his forehead, stated, "Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP who then fell on me, causing me to fall as well. I was standing near the stairs when this happened."

In response to the allegations, Rahul Gandhi clarified that BJP MPs were attempting to prevent his entry into Parliament. "I was simply trying to enter Parliament, and BJP MPs were stopping me, threatening me. This is what happened. The entrance to Parliament is open to all members, and we have the right to go inside," he stated.

Following this incident, Congress shared a video showing party leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mallikarjun Kharge allegedly being obstructed by BJP MPs while attempting to enter Parliament on Thursday.

The tensions escalated after remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha earlier this week, in which he commented on Congress’s repeated references to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Shah stated that if Congress leaders had devoted the same effort to chanting the name of God, they would have earned a place in heaven. "It has become a fashion to repeat Ambedkar’s name over and over. If they had invoked God’s name that many times, they would have attained heaven," Shah remarked.

While expressing appreciation for Congress’s acknowledgment of Ambedkar, Shah also suggested the party should clarify its true stance on the Dalit icon.
