BJP MPs Injured in Altercation Outside Parliament, Under Observation at RML Hospital

Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, Members of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), are currently receiving treatment at Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital following injuries sustained during a scuffle outside Parliament. Both MPs suffered head injuries, and doctors have expressed concerns over related health complications.

Medical Updates

Dr. Ajay Shukla, Medical Superintendent of RML Hospital, confirmed that both MPs were injured during the altercation and are under close monitoring.

“Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput sustained head injuries. Rajput ji's blood pressure remains elevated, and Sarangi ji, being elderly and a cardiac patient, is at higher risk of complications such as heart arrest or stroke. We are providing them with the best possible care,” Dr. Shukla stated.

Pratap Sarangi, who has a history of cardiac issues, required stitches on his head. Mukesh Rajput also sustained significant injuries, and both leaders have been prescribed two days of observation at the hospital.

Rajnath Singh Visits Injured MPs

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the injured MPs at RML Hospital and provided updates on their condition.

“Pratap Sarangi has received two stitches on his head, while Mukesh Rajput has sustained a similar injury. Although both are stable, doctors have recommended that they remain in observation for the next 48 hours,” Singh informed reporters.

Union Minister BL Verma, who also visited the hospital, expressed deep concern over the incident and its implications for parliamentary decorum.

“Sarangi ji is in the ICU and under treatment. This incident is a grave affront to the sanctity of our democracy. I strongly believe that the actions of the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, have disrespected this temple of democracy,” Verma remarked.

The scuffle occurred during a heated exchange between members of the NDA and the INDIA bloc, who were staging simultaneous protests on parliamentary grounds. The altercation escalated, leaving Sarangi and Rajput injured and prompting both the BJP and Congress to lodge cross-complaints against each other.

The incident has added fuel to the already tense political atmosphere between the two major factions. Allegations and counter-allegations have been exchanged, with both sides blaming the other for the scuffle. The BJP, in particular, has accused the Congress of instigating the clash, while Congress leaders have denied the allegations, pointing to a lack of evidence supporting such claims.

This unfortunate episode highlights the growing friction in parliamentary proceedings, raising questions about decorum and the conduct of elected representatives in India’s highest legislative body. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
