The incident occurred at the upscale Satguru Sharan
building, where the 54-year-old actor resides on the 12th floor. CCTV footage from the premises captured the assailant fleeing the scene at 2:33 am. The intruder, identified as a young man, was armed with a wooden stick and a long Hexa blade. He was dressed in a brown collared T-shirt and a red scarf (gamcha
) while descending the building's sixth-floor staircase.
The attack, which reportedly took place during a suspected burglary attempt, left Khan and two others injured. Among the injured are 56-year-old staff nurse Eliyama Philip, who filed the complaint, and a domestic worker. Both suffered blade wounds in the incident.
Investigators believe the assailant may have changed his clothes after fleeing the location. Statements have been recorded from nurse Philip, the domestic help, and other witnesses, including the building’s security personnel.
"Twenty teams have been formed to apprehend the suspect," a senior official stated, adding that authorities are examining whether the individual has a prior criminal history.
The police are thoroughly analyzing the CCTV footage and questioning individuals connected to the incident. Additionally, investigators are relying on informants and technical resources to expedite the search.
