Four FIRs lodged, five arrested
Following the survivor's disclosure to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), police registered four FIRs on Friday, January 10th, 2025. A special investigation team, led by District Police Chief VG Vinodkumar, has identified at least 62 potential perpetrators. Cases have been registered against 40 men under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Five men, identified as Subin, S Sandeep, VK Vineeth, K Anandu, and Srini, have been arrested.
CWC and Police Collaborate for Support and Investigation
The CWC and police are working collaboratively to ensure the survivor's well-being and safety. She has been relocated to a shelter home and will receive counseling services. CWC member Adv. Syamala Devi stated that further details might be revealed on January 11th, and a Child Protection Officer will be meeting with the victim to gather additional evidence.

The investigation is ongoing, with officers from multiple stations involved due to the extensive number of accused. The survivor's statement will be crucial for both the investigation and tailoring support services to her specific needs. The CWC is prioritizing her emotional well-being and privacy by arranging counseling.
