Jammu, February 14, 2025 – Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu Frontier, Shashank Anand, met with Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Friday to discuss border security concerns and the prevailing security situation in the region.
According to an official statement, IG Shashank Anand briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the current security landscape in BSF’s area of responsibility and deliberated on critical border security issues. Lieutenant Governor Sinha emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and seamless coordination among security agencies to effectively tackle any emerging threats.
BSF Leadership and Security Strategy
Shashank Anand, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch (Haryana cadre), assumed charge as Inspector General of BSF Jammu Frontier on February 7. Since taking over, he has been actively overseeing border management and strategic security planning in the region.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level security review meeting on Thursday, attended by Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat and other senior officials.
Comprehensive Security Measures in Jammu Division
During the meeting, DGP and IGP Jammu presented a security roadmap, outlining strategic measures to combat security threats and ensure the safety of civilians. The IGP Railways provided a detailed briefing on railway security, highlighting enhanced protective measures for railway stations and tracks.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha reiterated his administration's firm resolve to eradicate terrorism from Jammu Division, stating:
“We should not even have remnants of terrorism in Jammu region. Effective steps must be taken to completely dismantle terrorist infrastructure and local support networks.”
He further directed J&K Police to take stringent action against individuals or groups providing logistical or financial support to terrorist activities, ensuring that all acts intended to create fear in society are dealt with as terrorist offenses under the law.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration continues to prioritize a robust counter-terrorism strategy, reinforcing border security and enhancing inter-agency coordination to maintain a safe and stable environment in the region.
