Understanding Guillain-Barré Syndrome
Guillain-Barré Syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nerves, leading to muscle weakness, loss of sensation in the limbs, and difficulties in swallowing or breathing.
In severe cases, GBS can cause near-total paralysis and respiratory complications. While the condition can affect individuals of all ages, it is more commonly observed in adults and males.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging the public to remain vigilant for symptoms and seek immediate medical attention if necessary.
