The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a ₹58 crore cash reward for the Indian cricket team following their dominant victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Rohit Sharma-led squad remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, securing the title with a commanding win over New Zealand in the final. According to an official BCCI release, the financial reward will be distributed among players, coaching and support staff, and members of the men’s selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar.
In a statement, the BCCI expressed its delight in recognizing the team's achievement, emphasizing that this cash award serves as a tribute to the relentless efforts of all those involved in India's success. The official release highlighted India's flawless campaign, where they registered four consecutive victories en route to the final. The team started with a six-wicket win over Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket victory against Pakistan. They continued their dominant run with a 44-run win over New Zealand before sealing a four-wicket triumph over Australia in the semi-final.
BCCI President Roger Binny hailed India's back-to-back ICC title wins, acknowledging the team’s unwavering dedication and commitment. He noted that winning consecutive ICC trophies is a remarkable feat and that this reward is a testament to the hard work put in by the players, coaching staff, and selection committee. Binny also pointed out that 2025 has been a historic year for Indian cricket, as the nation clinched its second ICC trophy, following the U19 Women’s World Cup triumph.
Echoing similar sentiments, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia praised the team for reaffirming India’s dominance in world cricket.
