Prime Minister Narendra Modi Pays Tribute to RSS Founders and Visits Key Landmarks in Nagpur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the memorial of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, where he paid floral tributes. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was also present during the occasion.

During his visit to Nagpur, the Prime Minister also visited Deekshabhoomi, a revered site in Buddhist history, where he offered prayers to Mahatma Buddha. He was welcomed earlier in the day by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The visit coincides with an event organized by the RSS to commemorate the Gudi Padwa festival. At Smruti Mandir, he paid respects to the founding leaders of the RSS.

The memorials of Dr. Hedgewar and M.S. Golwalkar, the second chief of the RSS, are housed within the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Nagpur’s Reshimbagh area.

Prime Minister Modi’s Tribute to RSS Founders

Following his visit, Prime Minister Modi signed the visitor’s book at Smruti Mandir, where he penned a heartfelt tribute to Hedgewar and Golwalkar, describing them as the two foundational pillars of the RSS, which serves as the ideological parent organization of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He expressed that he was deeply moved by his visit to Smruti Mandir, a site that he believes serves as an inspiration for working towards national service. The Prime Minister further noted that Hedgewar and Golwalkar remain a source of motivation for countless RSS Swayamsevaks.

Additionally, PM Modi visited Deekshabhoomi, the historic site where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and his followers embraced Buddhism in 1956.
