Dublin: The funeral of Indian expat Sam Cherian Tharayil, who passed away in Dublin, will be held on Monday. Sam Cherian passed away on May 12 while undergoing treatment at Mater Misericordia University Hospital in Dublin following a heart attack .
His wife Bindu, Sherlyn, Arlene, Ashlyn and Kevin are his children. V.O. Cherian and Eliyamma Cherian are his parents. Sam Cherian's parents live in Pune, Maharashtra. His father Cherian Velinthara, a retired army officer, and Sam's sister are currently in Ireland.
A member of the St. Gregory Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, he resided in Finglas and was active in various social and cultural activities. Sam, who was known as a top cricketer among expatriates, arrived in Ireland 18 years ago.
A public viewing and funeral service will be held at St. Mary's College Chapel, Rathmines (D06 CH79) on Sunday, May 18 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be Morning Prayer at 8 a.m. that day, followed by Holy Mass.
The funeral will be held at 11am on Monday 19th May at Dardistown Cemetery (K67 HP26), Collinstown Cross, Old Airport Road, Dardistown, Dublin.
