6 died and 27 Injured in a bus accident involved a group of tourists from Qatar to Kenya, Most from India

Doha: Five of the six people who died in a bus accident involved a group of tourists from Qatar to Kenya were Keralites. A toddler and three women were among the dead.

Photo From top to bottom, the deceased are  Jasna Kuttikkattuchalil (29), Ruhi Mehril Muhammed (18 months),  Ottapalam natives Riya Ann (41), Tyra Rodrigues (8), and Thiruvalla native Geetha Shoji Isaac (58),  

The deceased in the accident is Geetha Shoji Isaac,  from Anikad, Panavel, Mallappally, Thiruvalla, a native of Kerala, is a special school teacher in Qatar. Geetha and her husband have been living in Qatar for years. The son said that the group had left Qatar for a week-long excursion and that the mother died on the spot.  His father and brother have been injured. The brother needs surgery. It can only be done after reaching India or Qatar. His father is unable to walk due to back pain. 

But they didn't confirm the mother's death. They said they were looking into it. They kept saying that for 12 hours. But the mother had died on the spot. They knew it, but they didn't tell her. They only found out about it in the evening. 

The mother's body has been airlifted to Nairobi. Geetha's husband's brother has returned to Kenya. The son said that they are trying to bring the body back home.  The son and his family live in a flat near the Kaloor Stadium. 

The accident occurred when the vehicle the group was travelling in lost control and fell into a ravine in Nyandarua County in northeastern Kenya. 27 people were injured. They were admitted to a local hospital. Three of them are in critical condition. They will be transferred to a hospital in Nairobi.

The group includes 14 Malayalis, Karnataka natives and Goans. The accident occurred at around 4 pm local time on Monday.   There were around 35 people on the bus. 

Local media reported that the vehicle the group was traveling in lost control of due to heavy rain, hit a tree and fell into a ditch.  Ambulances arrived following the accident and transported the passengers to various hospitals.
