Shimla, June 7 — Senior Congress leader and Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Sonia Gandhi, was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla on Saturday after experiencing a sudden deterioration in her health.

Sources within the medical facility confirmed that Gandhi is currently in stable condition. A series of diagnostic tests, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), are being conducted to determine the underlying cause of her symptoms.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is expected to visit the hospital shortly to assess the situation and extend his support, officials added.
This is not the first instance of a health-related concern for the veteran leader this year. In February, Sonia Gandhi, who currently serves as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi with an abdominal ailment. At the time, attending physicians had clarified that there was no serious cause for concern.
Further updates on her condition are awaited from hospital authorities.
