A day after imposing a 25% tariff on Indian imports, U.S. President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to sharply criticize India’s trade practices and its relationship with Russia.
In his post, Trump downplayed strategic concerns surrounding New Delhi’s ties with Moscow, stating, “I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care.”
He went on to claim that the United States has conducted “very little business” with India, blaming what he described as “very high” tariffs, which he labeled “among the highest in the world.”
Trump also took aim at former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, issuing a stern warning to “watch his words” and accusing him of stepping into “very dangerous territory.”
The remarks come amid growing tensions over global trade realignments and Washington’s efforts to curtail the influence of Russia and its partners.
