Mohali, Punjab – July 9, 2025: A powerful explosion rocked an oxygen manufacturing plant in Phase 9 of Mohali on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuring several others, local officials confirmed.
The blast occurred in the early hours at the industrial facility, prompting an immediate response from emergency services, including police, medical teams, and district administration officials, who rushed to the scene and initiated rescue and relief operations.
“Two casualties have been confirmed so far,” a senior district official stated. “Three injured individuals have been shifted to Civil Hospital, Phase 6, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.”
Authorities have cordoned off the area as preliminary investigations are underway to determine the cause of the explosion. Firefighting and emergency response teams continue to monitor the site for any further risks.
