Kolar: A footbridge along the Bangalore-Tirupati National Highway in the outskirts of Kolar collapsed late last night, causing a major traffic jam over a three-kilometre stretch. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
According to eyewitnesses, a truck from Jharkhand collided with the footbridge near the Kondarajanahalli Anjaneya Temple, causing it to break into pieces. The bridge fell over the truck, but miraculously, no one was injured.
Authorities are currently clearing the debris, but travelers heading towards Andhra Pradesh, Bengaluru, and Tamil Nadu are facing significant delays due to the traffic disruption.
