A purported video featuring Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri has surfaced online, in which he allegedly claims that the Pakistani government and army are funding the terror outfit to rebuild its headquarters in Muridke, Punjab province. The base was destroyed during Operation Sindoor, India’s retaliatory strike following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
The two-minute clip, whose authenticity could not be independently verified by News18, purportedly shows Kasuri threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India over Kashmir. Kasuri, believed to be the alleged mastermind of the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, can be heard declaring that Lashkar’s “resolve remains strong” and that “the rivers and dams of Jammu and Kashmir will belong to them.”
According to a translation circulated on social media, Kasuri warned of revenge, vowed readiness for “sacrifice,” and threatened attempts to seize Indian dams, rivers, and territory in Jammu and Kashmir.
The emergence of the video comes just a day after a senior commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) admitted in a separate video that the family of terror mastermind Masood Azhar was “destroyed” during Operation Sindoor on May 7. That statement was released online on Tuesday, September 16.
