Questions have been raised over whether the legal notice issued to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by CI Shankarayya is part of a larger political ploy allegedly orchestrated by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLC Bhoomi Reddy Rangopal Reddy alleged that Jagan had promised Shankarayya a party ticket for the upcoming elections and was now using him as a political pawn. “From his Tadepalli residence, Jagan has staged a new drama,” Rangopal Reddy charged.
He further alleged that the notice to the Chief Minister was not an independent act but part of a deeper conspiracy. “The TDP is treating this matter with utmost seriousness. Those responsible will be held accountable,” he said.
Recalling past incidents, Rangopal Reddy pointed out that during the murder of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, Shankarayya was posted as CI at Pulivendula. “On that day, while the accused destroyed crucial evidence, Shankarayya fully cooperated with them. He benefitted financially and facilitated several settlements at the time, ultimately siding with the accused,” he claimed.
According to him, Shankarayya’s latest move is intended to influence the High Court proceedings in a way that benefits the accused in the Viveka murder case. “This new drama has Jagan’s hand behind it,” Rangopal Reddy asserted, adding that the notice to the Chief Minister has raised several suspicions.
