KOLKATA: In a shocking turn of events, the grandfather of a four-year-old girl has been identified as the prime accused in the alleged sexual assault of the minor in West Bengal’s Hooghly district. According to sources, the man has been detained and is expected to be formally arrested later today.

The distressing incident occurred on Friday near Tarakeswar railway station, where the child’s family, belonging to a nomadic Banjara community, was taking shelter. Officials stated that the girl was resting beside her parents when she was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted.
