KOCHI: The District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) has arrested two individuals in Kochi for possession of highly potent narcotics. The accused have been identified as Unais (34), a resident of Thrikkakara, and Kalyani (22) from Alappuzha. They were taken into custody within the Kochi Infopark police station limits.
During the operation, officers seized 22 grams of MDMA, along with thrass and drug-use paraphernalia, including fuming pipes. Police officials stated that Kalyani is employed in the film promotion industry, while Unais is a known history-sheeter.
The arrests were made following a targeted search at a hotel where the duo was staying, acting on a credible tip-off. The operation was carried out by the DANSAF team on the directives of Ernakulam City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya. The team was led by Narcotics Cell Assistant Commissioner V. Rajeev, under the supervision of DCPs Aswathy Jiji and Juwanapudi Mahesh.
