A woman was injured after a speeding autorickshaw rammed into her and overturned on a narrow residential road in Tamil Nadu’s Salem district early Saturday morning.
The incident, which was captured on CCTV, has since gone viral on social media.
The accident occurred at around 5:24 am on December 21, according to local sources. CCTV footage shows the autorickshaw approaching a curve at high speed without slowing down before striking the pedestrian. The impact sent the vehicle careening across the road, flipping twice before skidding to a halt.
Following the crash, local residents rushed to the scene after hearing the noise and provided immediate assistance to the injured woman, including offering her water. Several passengers travelling in the autorickshaw also sustained injuries in the accident. #Salem 🚨⚠️

The exact number of passengers on board at the time of the incident was not immediately known. Authorities are yet to release further details regarding the condition of the injured or whether action has been initiated against the driver.
