Karnataka: A disturbing incident has surfaced from Mutshette village on the outskirts of Mangaluru in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, where a woman was caught violently assaulting her elderly mother following a long-standing family dispute.
Repeated Complaints, Police Mediation in the Past
According to local reports, the mother and daughter had been involved in ongoing domestic disputes for several months. The elderly woman had approached the local police station multiple times with complaints against her daughter. Each time, the police reportedly intervened, mediated between the two, and sent them home after offering counsel. However, tensions between them continued to escalate.

Attack Occurred Inside Panchayat Office
A few days ago, the elderly woman had gone to the village panchayat office to file yet another complaint against her daughter. On learning this, the daughter rushed to the spot and confronted her. The argument quickly intensified, culminating in a violent attack.
Witnesses captured footage of the daughter pushing the elderly woman to the ground, kicking her repeatedly, pulling her hair, and striking her with a shoe. Despite her mother crying for help, the assault continued unabated. The video clearly shows the shocking disregard and aggression exhibited by the daughter.
Video Goes Viral, Outrage on Social Media
Bystanders recorded the incident and later posted the video on social media, where it rapidly went viral. Viewers expressed strong outrage and condemnation, describing the attack as cruel and unacceptable under any circumstances.
Police Register Case, Warn Action Against Circulation
Following the viral video, the police have registered a case in connection with the assault. Authorities have also issued a warning that legal action will be taken against individuals responsible for filming and circulating the video without consent.
