Pala/Kerala: A two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Python Programming was organised at Alphonsa College, Pala, on January 15 and 16, under the joint initiative of the Departments of Mathematics and Chemistry, in association with the DBT Star Scheme.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr Sister Minimol Mathew. Speaking on the occasion, the Head of the Mathematics Department, Dr Sister Sonia K. Thomas, Chemistry faculty member Dr Kochurani George, and DBT Star Scheme Coordinator Dr Ambily T.R., highlighted the growing relevance of programming skills in scientific research and academia.
The technical sessions were led by Dr Liju Alex, Assistant Professor at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Pampady, and Dr John Joy, Assistant Professor at St Stephen’s College, Uzhavoor. The programme featured hands-on training sessions conducted in the college’s newly established computer laboratory.
Faculty members from various colleges participated in the practical sessions, making the programme an effective platform for enhancing computational skills and interdisciplinary learning.
