UAE Releases Identities of Expatriates Killed in Iranian Attacks Amid Escalating Regional Conflict

UAE: Amid intensifying tensions in West Asia, the United Arab Emirates has released the identities of six expatriates who were killed in recent attacks attributed to Iran.

According to official figures, a total of eight people have lost their lives in the attacks so far, with details of the foreign nationals now made public. The deceased include Alaa Nader Awni from Palestine; Mureeb Zaman Nisar, Muzaffar Ali Ghulam, and Ismail Salim Khan from Pakistan; Ahmed Ali from Bangladesh; and Dibas Shrestha from Nepal.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, extended condolences to the families of the victims. Authorities confirmed that arrangements are underway, in coordination with respective embassies, to repatriate the remains of those killed.

The escalation follows a series of retaliatory strikes after reported military actions involving Israel and the United States against Iran, with tensions in the region rising sharply since late February. The UAE has emerged as one of the most affected Gulf nations, with Iranian counterattacks targeting U.S.-linked assets in the region.

As the conflict enters its nineteenth day, UAE officials report nearly 2,000 attacks directed at the country. These reportedly include approximately 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,672 drones. Several strikes are said to have targeted civilian infrastructure, including airports and other critical facilities.

The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that additional missile and drone attacks were intercepted on Wednesday, with air defence systems successfully neutralising threats across multiple locations. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to safety guidelines issued by security agencies.

As hostilities continue, concerns are mounting over civilian safety and the broader regional implications of the ongoing conflict.
