A routine evening walk turned violent for a young woman from Manipur after she was allegedly assaulted by a group of men near the Saket District Court Complex on Sunday.
According to preliminary information, the woman and her friend were walking in a park in the Saket area of New Delhi when a group of men allegedly passed lewd remarks at them.
The situation reportedly escalated after the woman objected to the comments. Police said the confrontation quickly intensified, leading to a heated exchange between the woman and the group.
During the altercation, the accused allegedly assaulted the woman. The incident took place in a park located close to the Saket District Court Complex in south Delhi.
The woman sustained minor injuries in the alleged attack and was later taken to Safdarjung Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Police teams reached the location soon after receiving information about the incident and contacted the victim to record her statement.
Initial reports indicate that the woman is in stable condition and that her injuries are not serious. Officials said they remain in constant contact with the victim while examining the circumstances surrounding the assault.
“Strict action will be taken against the culprits,” police said, adding that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
