Several people were taken hostage inside a bank in the town of Sinzig, Germany.
Police said on Friday that several people were being held hostage inside a bank in the western German town of Sinzig. The incident was first reported in the center of the small town at around 7 a.m. German time.
Armed suspects reportedly took a bank employee hostage. Authorities said one of the hostages was the driver of a cash-in-transit vehicle. Cordons have been set up outside
One person said he approached an employee outside the bank and threatened him to try to get in. According to local media reports, the two were in the vault area.
The situation is currently under control. Special forces are responding to the situation. Police said caution should be exercised in sharing information as "someone may be listening in."
