Washington: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States and Iran.

He also said that both sides agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. A formal agreement in this regard will be signed on June 19, Shehbaz Sharif tweeted.

The agreement will be signed in Switzerland. Crucial meetings involving mediators from both sides to finalize the agreement will be held this week. Shahbaz Sharif thanked the United States and Iran. He also thanked Qatar for its support in making the negotiations successful, and the leadership of Saudi Arabia and Turkey for their crucial contributions in making the agreement a reality.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that a peace deal with Iran has been reached. Trump's response was via Truth Social. Trump has ordered the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for global oil trade, to be completely reopened without any tariffs. 

"Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow," Trump said. Iran also confirmed that the peace deal was completed. Iranian media reported that the United States was forced to end the war.
