UAE Condemns Strait of Hormuz Tanker Attacks as 'Flagrant Violation' and Direct Threat to Global Energy Security

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has issued a blistering rebuke following a hostile assault on two oil vessels linked to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while transiting the vital Strait of Hormuz.

Characterizing the offensive as a "flagrant violation" of international law and international shipping resolutions, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the targeting of commercial maritime routes. Labeling the incident directly as a grave threat to global energy security, authorities warned that weaponizing or obstructing the critical waterway amounts to acts of piracy and poses an immediate peril to regional stability.

According to official reports from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and ADNOC, the vessels were targeted during their evening transit. Swift emergency protocols were enacted, resulting in no reported casualties, and response teams successfully brought the situation under control.

The incident marks a sharp escalation of tension along one of the world's most critical energy transit corridors. In response, Abu Dhabi has demanded an immediate halt to unprovoked hostilities and called for the unconditional protection of freedom of navigation to safeguard global trade.
