NEW DELHI — World leaders and high-level delegations have gathered at the Bharat Mandapam convention center in New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit. Guided by the official theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," India's chairship places a human-centric approach at the forefront of the expanded bloc's agenda.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting heads of state and government from across the expanded 11-member bloc and partner nations. The two-day diplomatic milestone addresses pressing international issues, including strengthening multilateralism, food and energy security, reforming global financial architectures, and stabilizing critical supply chains.
The high-profile gathering follows a year-long series of over 350 ministerial meetings and working engagements held across more than 25 cities in India. Discussions center heavily on practical, development-oriented outcomes across political, security, economic, and cultural pillars, alongside critical bilateral meetings aimed at easing geopolitical friction and fostering deeper regional cooperation.
