India is set to face Afghanistan in the quarterfinal match scheduled for Monday, with play starting at 10:00 AM Indian Standard Time.
A lighthearted moment featuring wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson caught widespread attention as the team arrived for practice. While undergoing standard security checks—including bag and body frisks—Samson pulled his mobile phone from his pocket and made a quick remark to the security personnel, drawing immediate laughter from the staff. He then joined teammates like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravi Bishnoi, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi in entering the training facility.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, a 15-member first-string Indian squad has traveled for the continental tournament, alongside Bangladesh as the other major nation fielding a primary-tier team.
