KYIV — A pharmaceutical plant operated by India’s Kusum Group in Ukraine’s Sumy region was hit by Russian drone attacks, with one person reported killed and several others injured. The main structure of the facility was largely destroyed in the attack, according to reports from the site.
The plant is part of the Indian pharmaceutical group’s operations in Ukraine. Images from the scene showed a large plume of smoke rising from the facility after the drone strikes.
The attack comes as Russian strikes continue across parts of Ukraine, with several regions reporting attacks. Ukrainian authorities have been responding to repeated drone strikes against infrastructure and other targets.
The loss to the Kusum Group’s facility has been estimated at hundreds of crores of rupees, though the full extent of the damage and the final casualty figures may change as assessments continue.
