RIYADH — An Indian national was killed and 10 other Indians were injured in a missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. India strongly condemned the attack, describing it as unacceptable. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh is coordinating assistance for the injured and the families affected.
The attack took place on October 10. Initial reports said 12 people were killed and more than 300 injured. The Indian victim was reportedly a resident of Hyderabad who had travelled to Saudi Arabia as part of a group undertaking Umrah, a pilgrimage to Mecca. Embassy officials have been visiting hospitals to monitor the condition of the injured Indians and ensure they receive medical care.
The airport came under attack again on October 11. Saudi authorities reported that a Pakistani national was killed and 11 people were injured in the second incident. The repeated attacks have raised fresh concerns about security in the region.
The Indian Embassy said it was in contact with the deceased man's family and would assist with arrangements to bring his remains back to India. Indian officials are continuing to monitor the situation and provide support to affected nationals.
