CBI Arrests DGCA Official and Aviation Company Director in Bribery Case

New Delhi—The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested DGCA Deputy Director Sushil Kumar Garg and Sushil Kumar Bhane, Director of Ekvi Air Training Organisation Pvt Ltd, in connection with an alleged Rs 2.5 lakh bribery case. Garg is posted in Chennai and is accused of demanding and accepting the bribe in connection with airworthiness certification for aircraft operated by the private company.

According to CBI officials, Garg allegedly demanded the money in return for favouring the company's aircraft in the airworthiness certification process. The agency registered a case against Garg, Bhane, the company and other unidentified persons following information about the alleged bribe demand.

The CBI subsequently conducted a raid and arrested the two men after the alleged payment was made. The agency is expected to seek transit remand to bring Garg to New Delhi for further questioning. The investigation is continuing to determine whether others were involved in the alleged bribery arrangement.
