NEW DELHI — The central government has notified a list of 375 types of works that can be carried out in rural areas under the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. The move is part of the new framework for rural employment and development.
The approved works are aimed at creating more job opportunities in rural areas while also supporting infrastructure development, protection of natural resources and the creation of useful local assets. The new list provides a clear framework for the types of projects that can be taken up under the scheme.
The government said the new provisions are intended to provide employment to rural households while improving basic infrastructure and creating assets that can provide long-term benefits to rural communities.
The works will be taken up based on the needs of individual rural areas. The new framework seeks to link employment opportunities more closely with local development needs and ensure that rural employment projects also contribute to wider village development.
