Ireland Weather: Met Éireann predicted Possible spot flooding as heavy rain

Another moderate day is forecast for today, with bright intervals this morning, heavy rain, and possibly some localised flooding.

It will be windy this morning with showery rain outbreaks in the west and southwest extending over much of Munster and Connacht, with some "heavy falls and spot flooding possible," according to Met Éireann. Before the rain continues to drift northeast during the afternoon and evening, it will be generally dry elsewhere with a few bright intervals. The maximum temperatures today will only reach 1C3 to 17C.

The majority of the rain tonight will be limited to eastern and northern areas. With clearer periods and only sporadic showers elsewhere, it will be dryer. With lows between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius tonight, it will be colder than recent evenings. The southwest will experience the coldest temperatures.

The "mobile Atlantic regime" that will occasionally bring high winds and heavy rain, along with "lower" temperatures than recent days, will make next week "extremely unpredictable," according to Met Éireann.

Tomorrow morning will be mostly dry with some bright periods and sporadic showers, according to the prediction. Through the afternoon, the southwest will bring more clouds. In the evening, there will be sporadic, strong downpours, but the north and east will remain dry until nightfall. The highest temperatures will be between 9 and 12 Celsius.

As the rain continues to move north-eastward, Monday night will start off wet and windy. After a while, the weather will dry out before showers, which will primarily affect the south and west, arrive. Once again, overnight lows will range from 2 to 6 degrees Celsius.

The last of the overnight rain will move northeast on Tuesday morning, according to Met Éireann, resulting in a day of sunshine and protracted dry periods throughout a large portion of the nation. Throughout the day, southern and western coastal areas will have gusty showers or longer periods of rain, with highs between 8C and 11C.

Long clear periods, sporadic showers, and lows of 0 to 4 C are forecast for Tuesday night.

The weather for Wednesday is still "uncertain," according to the forecaster, but current trends indicate that after a day of sunshine and a few showers, heavy rain will rush up from the south with blustery or windy conditions forming. Expected maximum temperatures range from 7 to 11 C.

On Wednesday night, the rain will gradually move eastward before more showers move in from the west. Low temperatures range from 3 to 7 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, Met Éireann predicted bright sunny intervals and sporadic blustery showers. The Atlantic coastal areas will have the heaviest and most frequent showers. Forecasted highs range from 9 to 12 degrees Celsius.

"Friday is expected to have long dry spells interspersed with sunny periods, especially in the south and east. Over the weekend, more rain and showers are anticipated, as well as periods of wind or breeze, according to Met Éireann.
