Maharashtra lawmaker Prakash Solanke's home in Beed district was vandalised and set on fire Monday morning

Mumbai: NCP MLA's residence set on fire during protest demanding unchangeable reservation in Maharashtra.

The agitators set fire to the residence of NCP MLA Prakash Solanke. This was reported by news agency ANI. Prakash Solanke stated that he was inside the house when the incident took place. "Fortunately, neither my family members nor the staff were injured.

We are all safe, but the fire has caused huge damage,' Solanke said. Protests demanding Maratha quota in jobs and education in Maharashtra have been in the news recently.

It was announced yesterday that Shiv Sena leader Hemant Patil has resigned as MP in protest over the reservation issue. The agitators had earlier accused the Maharashtra Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of conspiring to stop the progress of Marathi people.
