India: A Pillar of Global Diplomacy, Says Former German Ambassador

Few nations can boast of fostering trustworthy and amicable relationships with almost every country in the world. India, according to former German Ambassador Walter J. Lindner, stands out as one of those rare nations. "India’s economy is expanding rapidly, and its soft power is undeniable. The country has a well-defined stance in critical areas like history, spirituality, culture, religion, and music. As the most populous nation in the world today, the global community simply cannot progress without India’s opinion and active participation," Lindner remarked.

Highlighting India’s diplomatic achievements, Lindner pointed to the country's exceptional ability to maintain robust relations with superpowers across the spectrum. The United States, for instance, shares a dynamic strategic partnership with India, reflected in initiatives like the Quad Alliance and trade agreements. Russia, a longstanding ally, continues to collaborate with India in defense, energy, and space exploration. Even amidst tensions, India and China engage in significant trade partnerships, demonstrating India’s pragmatic approach to diplomacy.

Lindner further noted that India’s growing influence stems not only from its economic and political strategies but also from its cultural and spiritual heritage, which resonate globally. "India has always been a nation of significance, and now more than ever, its voice matters on the world stage," he added.
