New Delhi, April 14, 2025 — Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is once again at the center of a security scare after a fresh death threat was reported to the Mumbai Police. According to ANI, an unidentified individual sent a WhatsApp message to the official number of the Worli Transport Department, threatening to assassinate the actor at his residence and detonate a bomb in his car.
The message prompted swift action, with a case registered at the Worli police station. Law enforcement agencies have since launched an investigation to trace the origin of the threat and ensure the actor’s safety. Security measures around Khan’s Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartments, have been further heightened as a precaution.
Ongoing Threats Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
The latest threat adds to a series of concerns surrounding Khan’s safety, which authorities believe may be linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The gangster has previously issued threats against the actor, allegedly in retaliation for the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which Khan was accused of illegally hunting the protected species during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain.
Bishnoi, currently incarcerated and also accused in the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has made multiple public threats against the actor. Investigations have revealed a sustained pattern of intimidation directed by Bishnoi and his associates.
Pattern of Violence and Intimidation
In April 2024, two assailants on a motorbike fired several shots outside Salman Khan’s residence in an apparent attempt to intimidate him. The attack was later linked to Bishnoi’s gang. In a separate and deeply concerning incident in October, Baba Siddique—a prominent NCP leader and close associate of Khan—was fatally shot near his home in Mumbai. The Bishnoi gang subsequently claimed responsibility for the murder.
In response to these incidents, Mumbai Police significantly enhanced security protocols for the actor. Bullet-proof glass has been installed on his balcony, and a round-the-clock security detail remains in place.
Actor Responds to Threats
Despite the persistent danger, Khan has publicly maintained a composed stance. Speaking to the media last month ahead of the release of his upcoming film Sikandar, the 58-year-old actor acknowledged the challenges of living under constant protection. “Moving around with heavy security is not easy, but I have left my safety in God’s hands,” he said.
As the investigation into the latest threat continues, authorities remain focused on neutralizing any credible danger to the actor. Meanwhile, public concern grows over the ongoing pattern of organized criminal threats targeting high-profile figures in India’s entertainment industry.
