Balakrishna’s Remarks on Chiranjeevi Spark Political and Film Industry Uproar

Remarks made by Nandamuri Balakrishna in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly have ignited a major controversy in both political and film circles. Chiranjeevi, currently abroad, issued a strong condemnation of Balakrishna’s remarks. He reminded that former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had personally invited him for discussions on industry concerns and had always treated him with respect. Chiranjeevi contrasted that gesture with Balakrishna’s repeated attempts to demean him in public forums.

Political analysts believe the episode highlights a deliberate strategy within the TDP. They argue that Balakrishna’s remarks were not incidental but part of a larger political design aimed at undermining Chiranjeevi’s stature ahead of the 2024 elections. Past instances where TDP leaders targeted Chiranjeevi and the Kapu community were also recalled in this context.
