Young Woman Abducted Outside Shop; CCTV Footage Surfaces

Odisha: Police have launched an intensive investigation into an incident that occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, involving a young woman and the prime suspect. The attack took place near Bhadrak town, where the woman had been standing in the veranda of a shop. The incident came to light after CCTV footage from nearby cameras was recovered.

According to the footage, the suspect’s truck first drove past the woman before reversing and stopping in front of the shop. Sensing suspicion, the woman attempted to move further ahead of the veranda. Moments later, the suspect stepped out of the vehicle, surveyed the surroundings to ensure no one was nearby, and then rushed toward her. He forcibly pinned her against a pillar before waiting for passing vehicles to clear the road. Following the shocking revelations, police initiated a large-scale search operation in the region. Authorities confirmed that surveillance cameras along the national highway, as well as other records, are being examined to trace the suspect. Police assured that the accused would be apprehended at the earliest.
