Convicted Felon Arrested for Brutal Homicide and Alleged Cannibalism in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: A 46-year-old man has been taken into custody in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh following the gruesome murder of a 16-year-old boy. The suspect, identified as Gudda Patel, allegedly attempted to consume the victim's flesh and blood after committing the act, sending shockwaves through the local community

​The victim, identified as Bharat Vishwakarma, was reportedly walking to his sister's residence when the assailant, who was lying in wait, ambushed him. According to police reports, Patel struck the teenager from behind with an iron rod before fatally assaulting him with a hammer.

​The screams of the victim alerted nearby villagers, who rushed to the scene. Eyewitnesses reported a scene of absolute horror, claiming they found the suspect attempting to consume parts of the deceased’s body. The locals managed to overpower Patel and detained him until law enforcement arrived.

​Police officials confirmed that Gudda Patel is a habitual offender with a significant criminal record. He was previously convicted for the murder of his own wife and had been serving a prison sentence until his release in January of this year.
