SRINAGAR — The Indian Army on Sunday successfully intercepted and foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. In the ensuing engagement, one Pakistani terrorist was eliminated, according to official military reports.

​The operation was initiated following precise intelligence inputs provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) regarding a potential crossing. In response, a joint tactical team launched a counter-infiltration operation during the intervening night of March 14 and 15, 2026, focusing on the Buchhar general area of the Uri sector.
