New Delhi: Police have uncovered alleged illegal activities, including obscene performances and narcotics possession, during a raid at a bar in the Paharganj area of the capital.
The operation was carried out by the Central District Special Staff at a bar located on Panchkuian Road, where officials reportedly found individuals performing objectionable dances. Preliminary investigations revealed that the establishment was operating without the requisite license, in violation of regulatory norms.
A case has been registered at Paharganj Police Station under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 296, 223A, and 3(5). Legal proceedings have been initiated against the bar manager, Tasleem (42), and other individuals involved.
During the raid, police also recovered a small quantity of a substance suspected to be MDMA from two individuals present at the premises. A separate case has been registered under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.
Authorities have informed the Municipal Corporation regarding licensing violations to facilitate appropriate administrative action.
Police officials confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing, and additional legal measures will be taken based on the findings.
