Students protested against Google CEO

California: Students protested against Google CEO Sundar Pichai at Stanford University's 2026 commencement ceremony.

Dozens of students walked out of their Stanford University graduation ceremony as Google CEO Sundar Pichai took the stage to deliver a keynote address.

The students protested in support of Palestine. A group of graduates stood up from their seats, shouted and left while Sundar Pichai, who is also a Stanford alumnus, was giving a speech.

The report says that the students left the venue in protest of Google's agreements with Israel. Many students wore keffiyehs in support of Palestine. Footage of the students leaving the venue wearing graduation gowns and caps is also circulating on social media.

Sundar Pichai can be heard speaking in the footage as the students leave the venue with slogans of Free Palestine. It is reported that Google's agreements with the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), the US Department of Homeland Security, and ICF (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) are behind the protest.

AI is a major topic of discussion at graduation ceremonies at most universities in the US. However, Sundar Pichai's speech omitted a detailed discussion on AI.

The rise of AI has been a major topic of discussion, with job losses and large-scale layoffs being the main topics. It is reported that Sundar Pichai omitted the discussion on AI from the graduation ceremony. It is reported that Pichai's speech included general issues and advice for graduates to improve their careers.
