Asian Games 2026: India Advances in Archery as Badminton Pairs Exit

NAGOYA, JAPAN — India’s compound archery squads advanced to the semifinals following clinical performances on Sunday at the Asian Games, keeping the nation's medal hopes alive on a packed day of competition. Both the men's and women's teams secured hard-fought victories and are set to face South Korea in the final four on September 30. 

Meanwhile, India's campaign in the badminton doubles ended in the quarterfinals, with Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand falling to Malaysia's Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan, and Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto losing a tight three-game battle against China's world No. 1 pair Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dongping. 

Attention now shifts to high-stakes finals later today, with stars like Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rahi Sarnobat competing in the 25m pistol shooting, alongside long-jumpers Shaili Singh and Ancy Sojan.
