Enniscorthy: Gardai have today arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection with a dog attack on a 9-year-old boy in County Wexford last month.
The incident took place on Sunday November 27 in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. Alejandro Misan was playing with friends on a housing estate in Enniscorthy when he was attacked by a pit bull cross. The boy escaped with life-changing injuries.
The nine-year-old's face and body were "completely destroyed" in Sunday's incident, and the boy needed skin grafts and stitches for the injuries. The dog continued to injure the child until the neighbor "hit the dog" with a baseball bat and removed it from the child.
She is currently being held at Enniscorthy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Gardai confirmed on November 29 that a man in his 20s had previously been arrested in connection with the incident in Enniscorthy. Further investigations are ongoing.
