During the February Bank Holiday weekend in Ireland (Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th and Monday 6th), your TFI Leap Card allows you to carry +1 one person free of charge on participating TFI Transport services.
TFI is offering Leap Card users the chance to bring someone along for the duration of their trip for free, from Saturday 4 February to Monday 6 February, when they pay for travel with their Leap Card. As part of the LEAP +1 promotion, any passenger paying a fare using a LEAP card can choose one person to travel with them for free on participating TFI bus, train and tram services.

The Leap +1 promotion applies to the latest bank holiday weekend in Ireland - Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th and Monday 6th 2023. The promotion starts at 00:01 on Saturday 4th and ends at 23:59 on Monday 6th February 2023.
To avail the offer, simply present your Leap Card to pay for your journey, or validate a pre-loaded ticket as usual, and make sure you have your Plus One with you.
To use the offer on the bus, make sure to inform the driver that you have +1. When traveling on the commuter train, DART or Luas, simply travel with your +1 as usual and use your TFI Leap Card at the validator. Train stations will either be staffed or gates will be kept open during the promotion period to ensure +1s can enter the platform.
Whether you take one of the 450,000 journeys with a Leap card across Ireland every day or you want to make use of the enhanced network of TFI transport options, this February Bank Holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity to use the TFI network.
Where you can get the offer : You can take advantage of the offer on the following participating TFI services: Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, TFI Local Link, Bus Éireann (excluding Expressway), Luas, DART and commuter rail on the Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail Network. All here will be available.
If you have a valid monthly/annual Irish Rail ticket on a Leap Card, you can use it to take advantage of this promotion on services for which your ticket is valid, except Travel Cross Border. Additionally, the promotion also includes the following subsidized routes:
- Kilkenny City and KK1 / KK2 routes operated by City Direct;
- Limerick City - Castletroy route 310 operated by Dublin Coach;
- Naas - Blanchardstown route 139 is operated by JJ Kavanagh.
Last year, TFI reduced fares by an average of 20% across bus, train and tram services to encourage more people to rely on public transport.
