Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is also on the New York Times' list of world tourism destinations. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan shared his happiness that Kerala has been included in the list of important places in the world tourism sector by New York Times, a leading international media. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced through social media that Kerala has been included in the 13th position in the list.

Kerala has also been included in the list of 52 places that tourists should visit in 2023. Kerala has been included in the 13th position in the New York Times list. The New York Times introduced Kerala with the tag line 'Visit Kerala during the festive season to enjoy the rural beauty'.

COCHIN, India—The visitor who has already seen or wants to skip the touristic clichés of India —the Taj Mahal and Kashmir—can ignore the North and devote himself to what is probably the loveliest part of the subcontinent, Cochin ‐ Travancore and thecoasit of Malabar.
The coral strand of the Southwest is now included in the state of Kerala, which still bears the imprint of the earliest merchant adventurers from Europe and the Levant. The legend is that King Solomon's trading ships touched at Malabar ports, and there is a probably apocryphal theory that the ancient Jewish community, now dying as its members migrate to Israel, began with Solomon's traders.
Perhaps the best hope of raising Kerala's desperately low monetary standard of living, which is less than $50 per capita a year, is the tourist trade, and despite internal political quarrels, the state is making an efficient effort to attract visitors.
The state tourist officers are the best travel agents in this part of the world. They have Government automobiles and motor launches available to rent to tourists at 10½ cents a mile —a price which, remarkably enough, includes gasoline and an English‐speaking chauffeur or pilot. There is an extra charge of $1.05 a night to cover the driver's expenses while the car is away from its base.

In a Facebook note, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great pride that the New York Times has also praised Kerala's Responsible Tourism Mission activities. The Chief Minister also pointed out that these kinds of recognitions will strengthen the efforts to transform Kerala into a world-class tourist destination.
