Multiple Schools in Delhi and Noida Receive Bomb Threats, Prompting Swift Security Response

New Delhi, February 7 – Several schools across Delhi and Noida received bomb threats on Friday morning, prompting immediate action from law enforcement agencies. The authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ahlcon International School in Delhi's Mayur Vihar-1 alerted the Pandav Nagar police station after receiving a bomb threat via email addressed to the principal. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the information was reported at 6:40 AM and promptly relayed to the control room. In response, the East District Bomb Disposal Squad was mobilized, and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Pandav Nagar, along with a police team, arrived at the scene. Following a thorough sweep of the premises, the squad found no suspicious objects.

In light of the incident, the school principal promptly informed parents via email that the campus would remain closed for the day to ensure student safety. "The school administration has informed us that classes will be conducted online today, but they have not shared any further details. We believe it is due to the bomb threat," a concerned parent told ANI.

Similarly, Shiv Nadar School in Noida also received a bomb threat, triggering an immediate response from local law enforcement. The Noida police, in coordination with the bomb squad, fire brigade, dog squad, and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), conducted a comprehensive security check of the premises.

"Senior police officers are on-site, and a specialized cyber team is actively investigating the source of the threatening email. We urge the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information," the Noida police stated.

St. Stephen’s College in North Delhi was another institution targeted by the threat. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North District) confirmed that the college received an email warning of a bomb at 7:42 AM. "Our Bomb Disposal Team is on the ground, conducting a thorough inspection," the official said.

This alarming incident follows a recent series of hoax bomb threats that targeted over 400 schools across the national capital. In response, Delhi Police launched a rigorous investigation, leading to the apprehension of a juvenile suspect responsible for disseminating these menacing emails. The accused, a student from a reputed public school, was identified through advanced cyber forensic techniques employed by the South District Police’s Cyber Cell.

Authorities recovered a laptop and two mobile phones from the suspect, which underwent forensic analysis, confirming his involvement. Investigations revealed that the accused had used encrypted and anonymous email services in an attempt to evade detection. However, through sophisticated digital tracking methods, law enforcement successfully traced the origin of the threats.

Further examination of the recovered digital evidence, coupled with the suspect’s confession, established his involvement in multiple prior instances of similar threats. Notably, on January 8, 2025, approximately 23 schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails, causing significant disruption to academic activities and widespread concern among students, parents, and school authorities.

The recent events have raised concerns over the misuse of digital platforms for creating mass panic. Authorities are intensifying cyber surveillance measures and urging the public to remain vigilant while discouraging the spread of misinformation. The investigation remains ongoing.
