Status yellow rain warnings are in place for eight counties in Ireland today . Ireland is facing unsettled weather conditions, a Met Eireann meteorologist said.
A rain warning will be in effect in Cork and Kerry until 2pm, while a special rain warning will remain in place in Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Tipperary and Waterford until 5pm.
Met Eireann warned that heavy rain could cause flooding, travel difficulties and reduced visibility in these counties.
The Met Office has issued a status yellow warning for rain in six northern counties in the UK - Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry - until 9pm tonight .
